Picture this! You have already carefully planned your holiday and maybe even payed an advance for the accommodations. You already have the plane tickets printed out and the list with all the things you want in your carry-on baggage. You check everything carefully, but it still feels like somethings is missing. What are you going to do about your pet? Well you can now book your next flight without a care since there is no need to leave the most beloved family member with other people.
Blue Air allows the transport of small sized animals, cats and dogs, of up to 6 kg including the cage (in the cabin) and medium sized pets (in the plane’s haul). You must know beforehand that Great Britain makes an exception and does not allow this type of “precious cargo” transportation for inbound or outbound flights from England. In case you are wondering what steps are required for you to take your pet on vacation, don’t worry – everything is simple! First, be sure to respect the following imposed conditions by European norms so that any animal must have:
- a microchip implanted under the skin;
- a health card;
- a passport issued by the vet;
- had the rabies shot.
If you have these taken care off, make sure the cage is within these dimensions 45 x 30 x 23 cm and is IATA certified. This isn’t complicated since any pet shop salesman can help you with this! Please be aware that if you decide to travel with your lovely pet you’re going to need to transport the cage in your lap or under the front seat.
For the haul transportation please check this link to find out what are the imposed conditions by IATA. For safety reasons, if you have two (or more) pets, you can only transport one in the cabin with you.
With all of these being said, we wish you the most pleasant journey alongside your four-legged friend!
